STOP NEGOTIATING WITH YOURSELF...OWN YOUR PRICE.

Owning your price isn’t about saying it louder. It’s about saying it once — and meaning it.

When you’ve had enough, you stop treating your number like a suggestion. You stop offering disclaimers or discounts before anyone even asks. You stop padding it with explanations to make it “go down easier.”

You say your price. You let it land. And you stay quiet long enough for the other person to respond.

Why This Feels Hard

If you’ve been in the habit of negotiating with yourself before the buyer even speaks, holding the line will feel uncomfortable at first. That’s normal.

The discomfort is your old conditioning trying to pull you back into safety mode — the place where you bend and adjust to keep people happy.

But here’s the thing: your price isn’t there to keep everyone happy. It’s there to keep your career healthy.

👉This is what my next blog is all about: The Artist Pricing Toolkit — a breakdown of how to back up your enough with real numbers and stop flinching when you say them.

Drop your email and I’ll ping you the second it’s live.

What Owning It Looks Like

  • It’s the artist who quotes the same PPSI whether the buyer is a stranger, a friend, or a family member.

  • It’s the painter who says, “That’s my price,” without adding, “…but I can work with your budget.”

  • It’s the creator who understands that a “no” from the wrong buyer is better than a “yes” that leaves you resentful.

Owning your price is holding it steady through every reaction — interest, hesitation, silence — because you know it’s not a guess. It’s math. It’s value. It’s your time. It’s your life.

My Turning Point

When I first started standing in my price, I lost sales. And that scared me.

But what I gained was bigger — respect. Not just from the right buyers, but from myself.

The first time someone said, “That’s more than I expected,” and I simply replied, “That’s the price,” I felt something shift.

I wasn’t chasing. I wasn’t justifying. I was standing in the work I had created, the hours I had put in, and the years it took to get here.

And here’s what happened: the right buyers stayed.

The Real Payoff

When you own your price, you filter out the noise. You stop bending for the wrong people and make room for the right ones.

Buyers who value your work will meet you where you are. Buyers who don’t were never going to support your career in the long run anyway.

Owning your price clears the path — not just for sales, but for building a career on your terms.

And once your price is solid, there’s another piece of the puzzle that becomes just as important: the story behind the work. Because your price can stand, but your story is what makes it live.

💥My next post is The Artist Pricing Toolkit — broken down in 10 parts, the exact framework for connecting your numbers to your story, so your price and your narrative work together to attract the right buyers. Drop your email and I’ll let you know the moment it goes live.
